USAF is back with C-130J Super Hercules
26 June 2015
After an absence of 3 years the United States Air Forces in Europe plans to participate with a C-130J Super Hercules from the 86th Airlift Wing based in Ramstein, Germany. The C-130J is the newest version of the famous C-130 Family.
This year marks the 60th year the C-130 is in production and it is the oldest continuously produced family of military planes in history. The Hercules is big. It's tough. It's versatile. It refuels helicopters in flight. It can fly a small military force and its heavy equipment around the world and land on short, unfinished airstrips.
We are looking forward to celebrate the Hercules 60th Birthday with at least two C-130 aircraft versions on static display. A C-130H coming from the Belgian Air Force along the modern C-130J Super Hercules coming form the United States Air Force.
The Malta Aviation Society is grateful for the USAFE participation in this year's edition of the Malta International Airshow and the assistance provided by the Defense Attache’ Office at the Embassy of the United States of America in Malta.
