Polish Su-22 Display Team will grace our skies

Polish Su-22 display team for Malta air display 2016 will consist of four bomber-fighter aircraft. Three of them will be single seater M4 model, and the fourth will be double seater UM3K model. All will be painted in a new, grey scheme of the camouflage, originated in 2015.
During the event two Su-22 will perform tactical, dynamic display in the air. The third will be a spare machine for the flying pair, and the fourth is planned for the static display.
The home base for the team is 21st Tactical Air Base in Swidwin (north-western part of Poland). The unit is subordinated to the 1st Tactical Air Wing, with headquarters in Swidwin as well.
Polish Su-22 fleet, based in Swidwin, is nowadays receiving the verification overhaull in Wojskowe Zaklady Lotnicze nr 2 (Military Aviation Works no 2). From 32 aircraft 18 are planned to remain in service for a maximum of 10 next years (approx. 2025) – 12 single seaters and 6 double seaters. The rest aircraft will be store as a source of the spare parts.
