Italian detachment to represent Italian AF
17 August 2012
The Italian Military Mission in Malta will be the sole Italian AF participation for this year's event. The detachment is formed by 2 AB-212 helicopter's primarily used for the Search and Rescue operations in Malta. The AB-212 is flown by a joint Italo-Maltese crew and the detachment has been in Malta since 1973 helping in training and in operations with the Armed Forces of Malta.
The AB-212 will be giving an SAR demonstration, that it is conducted with superb accuracy as there is hardly no room for error, since the demo is done on realistic circumstances. The Malta Aviation Society is thankful for their participation as this also provides the visiting public with a demonstration of the hard and worthy work by the Italo-Maltese crew all through the year.
