German Navy to represent Germany
29 August 2012
The German Navy has confirmed that it will be participating in this year's Airshow with a Dornier228MR coming from Marinefliegergeschwader 3 (MFG3) based at Nordholz.
A maritime aircraft that performs a pollution control role, in particular oil spills, over the Baltic Sea and North Sea, will be on display in the Air Show's static park. The aircraft, which entered service with the German Navy in 1982, can fly high over large and remote areas using airborne sensor systems to detect pollution and collect a range of atmospheric data.
At the Malta Aviation Society we are delighted with the participation of the German Navy at this year's Airshow after it last participated in the event in the 2009 edition.
