Frecce Tricolori are back!
01 June 2011
After an absence of 6 years we are delighted to have with us once again the world-famous Frecce Tricolori at this year’s edition of the Malta international Airshow. The world’s largest aerobatic team is planned to fly on both days and on Sunday will bring the show to an end.
The team consists of 10 MB-339 PAN Aircraft which is also the trainer for all fast jet pilots in the Italian Air Force. The high-level aerobatic tradition shown today by the Frecce Tricolori comes from a glorious past made possible by men and machines that, since the early 1930s began to practise aerobatic flight in order to represent our Air Force at international air shows and to maintain the honour and prestige of Italy in the aeronautical field.
This year is the 150th Anniversary of the Unification of Italy and the Frecce Tricolori are proud ambassadors of the Italian Air Force in this milestone for Italy.
