The Royal Air Force Tucano in Malta
03 March 2014
This year the world marks the fallen of World War One and what better way to commemorate the event than by an aircraft specially painted to remember the fallen? The Royal Air Force is sending a specially-painted Tucano from 72 (R) Squadron to the Malta International Airshow 2014.
This year’s scheme is designed to commemorate the World War One Centenary by incorporating a poppy theme – the universal symbol of remembrance. The team has also added the words ‘Lest We Forget’ on both the bottom of the aircraft and the sides of the fuselage. The display sequence is still being finalized at this time of the year. The display pilot is Flight Lieutenant Dave Kirby.
The Malta Aviation Society is looking forward to have the RAF Tucano Display Team 2014 gracing the Luqa skies, always a great favourite with the crowds at the airshow.
